THE BOYS AND GIRLS ARE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE GIFTS THEY RECEIVED

In the photo you can see the Neral girls with their new pyjamas, sent from Barcelona in December, as well as some that Aasara bought in India . They wanted to put them on straight away, the moment they arrived! On 6 th December, Luis and Silvia wrote, "We gave them the pyjamas this morning and since they've come back from school they've been doing nothing but ask if they could put them on.we told them that they could, but after dinner.They've now had their dinner and everyone has put their pyjamas on. They're very moved. All of this is really worth the work."

The girls in Neral, as well as all the Aasara children, experienced the same joy with all the presents sent these last few months. During Margarita and Marcel's visit to India in November, they handed out all the gifts to the children in the various centres financed by Aasara. These were the gifts that you kindly gave us in Barcelona; dolls, toys, games, calendars.Once in India, Margarita and Marcel also bought some clothes and accessories for the children, all financed by our donors in Barcelona.

Most of the time it's much better not to send the presents from Barcelona, but instead, agree on an amount of money with Aasara Barcelona that can be used to buy the gifts (suggested by you) in India. Not only will the gifts be cheaper that way, but also the gifts will typically be more suited to local tastes and that of the children. Moreover, we'll be helping the local economy.. Before deciding on what gifts to buy, Luis and Silvia can advise you on prices. An example of this system working is a television that was given in December by some of our donors and their children. Now the girls in Neral can watch it for an hour every evening, after dinner. Another example is the school backpacks, given by some of the occasional collaborators.
