AASARA PROPOSES THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CENTRE FOR THE CHILDREN

Providing the street children with a residence where they can rehabilitate in peace and with optimal space conditions, as well as having the necessary installations and a hygienic environment is now Aasara's main objective. The key model for this project is Aasara's centre for street girls in Neral, a community in the mountains on the outskirts of Mumbai. The centre for girls has been made possible thanks to the members of Aasara, with whose help the land has been bought, including the refurbishment and maintenance. Thanks to 'Mans Unides' who have paid for the construction of the building. Luis Duran and Sílvia Pons have been great managers in directing the centre for girls until it worked successfully, so that now they have come home, satisfied with the mission completed.

For this new big objective, that of having a centre for boys, it will be important to have everyone's collaboration. We have a big piece of news: During Joan Anton Pons' (member of Barcelona 's directing committee) visit, he managed to move forward in the finding of land in the same location, Neral, a kilometre from the children's centre and with promising possibilities. Currently, they are studying all the reports about the appropriateness of the land, and yes, they are positive. Aasara Barcelona will give the thumbs up for the purchase. Now the serious work begins: collect the necessary funds for the construction of the building and for the maintenance of this new residence, in a way that the boys, equal to the girls, can live in a place that gives them the best conditions. For this reason, we will need everyone's help!
